Hi y’all! It’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything. Life got busy and while I was still reading, I just wasn’t blogging at all. I’m back now and refreshed!

I was looking for a back to book blogging tag, but I couldn’t find one. I did find the 20 questions book tag. I think this will be a good one to do to get back in 🙂 I don’t know who the original creator for this tag is, if you do let me know. Here we go!

How many books is too many in a book series?

Honestly, I think this depends on the story itself. I’ve read series with 4, 8, and even 28 books (and counting). Each of these series are great reads in my opinion. I’m a fan of the more books in a series, the better.

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I don’t mind cliffhangers, as long as I don’t have to wait years for the next book. I try my best to not start a series that isn’t complete. Last year in January, I started the Crave series by Tracy Wolff. Since book 4 was scheduled to come out in September, I decided to read the first three books throughout the year. If you were at all invested in this series, you know what happened. September came and the release date was pushed to November. November came and once again, the release date was pushed to February 2022. Agh! I don’t remember what happened in book 3, so I’ve got to reread it. This time, I think I will wait for the rest of the series to release before going back in.

Hardcover or paperback?

This one is tough. I think when it comes right down to it, I prefer hardback. I like the floppiness of paperbacks, especially the larger prints, but hardbacks win.

Favorite book?

I’m not sure about this question. Favorite book from each genre? Of all time? At the moment? This past year? Such a simple, yet loaded question. I’m gonna go with my favorite book I’ve read this year (so far) and that is: Fated Throne (#6) by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Yes, I read the Zodiac Academy books 1-6. I absolutely love this series. I haven’t read something that got to me in every way in a long while.

Least favorite book?

I read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. This book had me at the edge of my seat and would not let me put it down. I was sucked into this book. When that plot twist popped up, I was not okay. I felt deceived. I now have a love/hate relationship with suspense thrillers. I like them, but I don’t like that one plot twist at the end that undoes the whole story. I will say that Gillian Flynn did a fantastic job with the writing of that book.

Love triangles, yes or no?

I like love triangles. In some series, they seem necessary. There’s just something about them that draws me to them.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Lately I have been able to finish all books I have started. So, for this answer I will go back to 2018. I picked up A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I read a few chapters and then DNF it. I just could not get into.

A book you’re currently reading?

Currently I am reading The True Love Bookshop by Annie Rains. This is book 3 in the Somerset Lake series, but it can be read as a standalone. The release date for this book is July 5, 2022. I will post a review when I am done!

Last book you recommended to someone?

I recently recommended Dark Lover by J.R. Ward to a friend of mine. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series has everything in it. Paranormal, fated mates, alpha males, Beauty and the Beast retellings, etc. I have enjoyed this series so much. I highly encourage others to give it a chance.

Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

Looking at my Read list on Goodreads, I’m going to answer with Daddy by Danielle Steel. It was published January 1, 1979. This was one of the first books I read from her and loved it. I read it at 15 years old and at 34, it has stuck with me.

Newest book I have read? (Publication date)

My current read is the newest book by publication date. Release date is July 5, 2022. I’m loving it so far. The True Love Bookshop by Annie Rains

Favorite author?

I have a few favorite authors. Lori Wilde, Carolyn Brown, Sarah J. Maas, J.R. Ward, and Jennifer L. Armentrout. I would read any book these authors come out with.

Buying books or borrowing books?

I like to borrow from my local library, but since I live in a small town they don’t always have what I’m looking for. So, off to the bookstore I go. Once I’m done reading it, I either keep it, donate it to my library, or put it in a Free Little Library box.

A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I did not like this book. I think it was just too creepy for me.

Bookmarks or dog-ears?

I have a large collection of bookmarks. I have themed, swag bookmarks, homemade, paperclip style, magnetic, and many more. With that said, I have dog-earred a book or two when I forgot a bookmark and didn’t have anything to use. Sorry!

A book you can always reread?

Lover Awakened is book 3 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and my favorite one. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I love this book! The main male character is covered in scars and won’t let anyone near him or touch him, except for her. Swoon!

Can you read while hearing music?

I can read while music is playing. I like having it on in the background, sometimes it helps set the books scenes. I read a lot of fantasy books and like to have classical music playing, it’s really nice.

One POV or multiple POV’s? (POV= point of view)

I love multiple POV’s. Especially when the POV is the main love interest. I swoon for his thoughts.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I read over multiple days. As much as I would like to read a book in one sitting without interruption, that’s just not possible.

Who do you tag?

I don’t know who to tag, so if you’re reading this and would like to do it, consider yourself tagged 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoyed my answers! Please, feel free to tag me in other book tags. I’ll be back soon with another blog post!
